Christmas Shoebox Drive

01

What is it?

Each Fall, Cornerstone Church hosts a Christmas Shoebox Drive that supports the ministries of Samaritan’s Purse and New Missions, Haiti.  This volunteer-led effort blesses children around the world by providing children with a tangible demonstration of God’s love in the form of a gift box filled with toiletries, school supplies and a toy.  As shoeboxes are distributed our partners take the opportunity to share the Gospel and offer the greatest Christmas gift possible – a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Cornerstone Lay Leaders

When Sherry Lee (pictured in the center) heard that Cornerstone needed a new leadership team for the Christmas Shoebox Ministry, the Holy Spirit practically drove her to Cornerstone to volunteer. About the same time, Linda Walton (right) also felt the burden to serve and a powerful team was formed. Over the last nine years they have been joined by Debbie Poppen (left) and together, they are supported by more than a dozen amazing volunteers. Sherry says, “I continue to find such joy in making sure children around the world receive a blessing-filled shoebox and are introduced to our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Christmas Shoebox Ministry is such an important opportunity for our church members to spread the Gospel.”
